I am using mandrake 9.0. It uses xfree86 4.2.1.
On the page where it describes the types of xfree downloads 'binaries' or 'tarbells'.
It says to find the correct binaries to download, i should download and run Xinstall.sh.
The results of this are:
uname reports 'Linux' version '2.4.19-16mdk', architecture 'i586'. Object format is 'ELF'. Xinstall.sh: line 1: strings: command not found
No Linux/ix86 binaries for this libc version
I cannot find anything that corresponds to any of binaries available.
Can anyone help?
