I recently bought a sony laptop GRT785b which has got Nvidia Geforce4 420 go 32mb. I don't know which kernel of suse supports this graphic chipset.Tried installing suse 8.1 which installed pretty well but after reboot and following primary initialisation the screen went blank. I was able to get in using text mode but after that I didn't know what to do. Should I install nvidia linux driver for latest kernel. if so how. Please reply with suggestion.
