[XFree86] HELP: upgrading to xfree86-4.3.99.10 on Debian Woody with 4.1

How do I go about switching to xfree86-4.3.99.10 on my Debian Woody?
I've downloaded the cvs, compiled and installed, but have a problem configuring everything as it still has the old XF86Config-4 and when I run the xfree86config script I can't get it to run all that well as the driver as lots of unresolveds...(it's the via_drv.o).

My biggest problem is that I can't get Xv to work and don't know what xserver to use to get it to run. I've tried Savage3 generic and the basic VESA, but none of them are all that great...

I need the via driver or at least a working Xv as I'm trying to make a small hometheater box on an Epia M10000 board that has the new cle266 chipset. I have already upgraded the kernel to 2.4.21-ac4 and I'v included v4l2....

I had it working for a few hours, but I forgot what I did... ;-)

Any suggestions?

thanks
anders
