(There's a reason I joined the "newbie" list. :) )

Although I have no fear of building from a CVS checkout, I have had enough
experience doing that that I do have a couple of questions.  Since this is
a Redhat new install, all the X stuff exists as RPM-installed stuff.  I
just did "rpm -qa | grep XFree86" and got a long list of packages.  In a
simple case, I would delete the existing package so there wouldn't be any
collisions caused by the new one.  This seems like a pretty complex issue
in XFree86's case.  Do you have any suggestions for me?
