I am trying to get my computer to work with My 'ATI All In Wonder Radeon 8500'. ATI is cool enough to have drivers for it however their directions do not seem to be working. The driver is in rpm format and the command theoretically is: rmp -i --force <driver_name>. The problem is this is doing absoutley nothing, and I cannot get any sort of GUI going on my system even with generic drivers. I'm uptodate on all my XFree86 version and even if i wasent i would expect the rpm thing to error if nothing else (it just returns to the command line). Also why cant i use other ATI drivers like 'All In Wonder' or 'Radeon8500' drivers (I've tried almost all of them)? I am new to linux so it might be something else so any help would be at the least educating. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus – Powerful. Affordable.
