Folks I need to replace my video card, but I need to run an old version of xfree - 3.3.6 (because SAS, my main application, needs kernel v2.2, and 3.3.6 is the last version of xfree86 to work on this old kernel). Matrox G450 and G550 have been proposed locally, but both require v4.2. Has anyone had luck installing a reasonably high-end card while running 3.3.6? The current card is an Elsa Gloria II, and may not be currently available, so I'll list salient features for finding a replacement. AGP mainboard slot. 64MB memory 350MHZ RAMDAC Capable of at least 1280*1024 resolution at 196 Hz refresh rate and 32 bit color. I just noticed this thing has a 6 year warranty. And that Elsa seems to have pulled offices out of the US so we'd need to send the thing to Germany to take advantage of the warranty. cur -- Curt Seeliger, Data Ranger CSC, EPA/WED contractor 541/754-4638 seeliger.curt@epa.gov _______________________________________________ Newbie@XFree86.Org *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
