Making a partial installation of XFree86 for building X clients

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all,

I wish to be able to compile X applications
on, and for use on, my login server. However,
I do not wish to have the excess baggage of
the X server and its applications.

I tried searching through the installation
notes, but could not glean any information
regarding this matter - nor from a search
using the phrase "headers only".

However, I did find the "ServersOnly" document
but there isn't a corresponding "ClientsOnly"
document. I found my copy of "ServersOnly" at:

http://the.earth.li/pub/XFree86/4.2.1/doc/ServersOnly

Could someone suggest how I should start?

Please remember to CC any message to me. I have
developed a fear of active mailinglists, which
are time consuming to manage with a web based
email account like Yahoo Mail.

Thank you,

Jonathan Paton
