Arrrg! I feel I'm very close..... but still no cigar. The log basically tells me that it couldn't detect any devices. I've tried configuring manually, but no dice. A file that is referenced /usr/X11R6/lib/doc/README.cirrus, is conveniently missing. In any case, the full log is attached, followed by my XFConfig file. <START LOG> XFree86 Version 4.2.0 (Red Hat Linux release: 4.2.0-8) / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600) Release Date: 23 January 2002 If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is newer than the above date, look for a newer version before reporting problems. I would also be modest and settle with X 3.3.6 (which Xconfigurator should have selected anyway) I would also possibly not let Xconfigurator perform the test of the graphic configuration, I had it die systematically there with the result that the XF86Config was not complete. Not performing the test and hacking XF86Config did the trick. Lionel --- "David E. Fitzgerald" <fitz@genuity.net> wrote: > My Xconfigurator under RedHat 7.3 will not successfully configure itself.
