Hi, I've got an old Compaq Deskpro with Cirrus Logic GD5436 and 1Mb of vid ram. The problem is that I could get X to start up in 640x480 8 and 16 bit, and 800x600 8bit, but NOT in 800x600 16bit. Why is that so? I've already read the documents and tried to modify the XF86Config file but nothing seems to work it will always revert back to 640x480. Another thing is, I get this error when I type startx. What do they mean? (EE) CIRRUS(0): No valid MMIO address in PCI config space (EE) CIRRUS(0): I2C initalization fail Could someone please help me solve this. Thank you.
