X Window

Hello, I'm currently installing FreeBSD release 4.6 on a Dell Dimension L733r with 128MB of RAM and an Intel i810e chipset. My problem is that I can't seem to get the X Window running. Everytime I hit "XFree86 -configure" or startx, my monitor went black-out and I have to reboot to kill the session coz pressing ctrl+alt+backspace won't help. I've tried many ways taught by online documents but nothing works.

I even downloaded the XFree86 binary files and run from the beginning as taught by the documents. My monitor went black-out when I reach the step "XFree86 -configure".

Can anyone tell me what's happening? What have I done wrong? Or what haven't I done to get the X works?

Thank you.
