Hi again Well the XFree86 -configure indeed generated a 4.2.0 Config file, and X starts, but on my screen I only see a small portion of what appears to be hughe virtual screen. My menu bar at the bottom is hughe, and moving to the top off the virtual screen span several "physical" screens, if you know what I mean. I played around with Horizsync and Vertrefresh, but no good. The monitor is old : Compaq 150 Chipset : S3 Trio64V2 The 200 Mhz processor is to slow for RH 7.3, so I'll have to run it at rl 3 anyway, but I'd like to understand tha cause.
