Hi folks, I've been trying to get Xrender to work with my shiny new KDE 3.0.3, I traced it to these few error lines from my Xfree 4.2.0: II) LoadModule: "Xrender" (II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libXrender.a (EE) LoadModule: Module Xrender does not have a XrenderModuleData data object. (II) UnloadModule: "Xrender" (II) Unloading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libXrender.a (EE) Failed to load module "Xrender" (invalid module, 0) Before that, libXrender.a was not in /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions at all, but I found it (and a corespending .so) file in /usr/X11R6/lib/ . After putting the line load "Xrender" in XF86Config, the error was "Module not found", so I copied the .a file to modules/extensions. Still, it didn't work, leaving that error message above. Does anyone have an idea how I can solve the problem? I have a GeForce 2 MX with the drivers from NVidia (version 1.0-2880, not the latest which is 1.0-2960), but it seems the problem is that X can't load/find the module at all. Another question I have is, are RENDER and Xrender the same thing? In KDE Control Center and xpdyinfo, RENDER is there, but not XRender. To keep my email short, I've put my complete XFree86.0.log file on a webserver, it's at http://www.stud.uni-karlsruhe.de/~uoc2/XFree86.0.log Thanks for the help!
