Hello there! (I sent this earlier from another account with a different e-mail address. Please excuse the possible double mail when the origial gets aprooved by the list admin.) I have XFree 4.2.0 on a LFS System and I can't get the xsm X Session Manager to run properly. X sessions without xsm work alright. xsm does not launch any applications listed in system.xsm or in ~/.xsmstartup. All I get is an empty root window. I tried the -verbose option when starting xsm but this obisously does nothing. Does xsm log via the system logger? I don't have anything in /var/log/messages or in /var/log/debug (in which I log debug messages) or in ~/.xsession-errors for that matter. I started 'xdm -session "/usr/X11R6/bin/xsm -verbose"' and I get this pstree: |-xdm) -session /usr/X11R6/bin/xsm -verbose | |-X) -auth /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/authdir/authfiles/A:0-kWSPir | `-xdm) | `-xsm) -verbose That's it. No matter what I put in ~/.xsmstartup, xsm does nothing. Any clues? Thanks, Lars _______________________________________________ Newbie@XFree86.Org *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
