Hi James

I'm not sure if this is right (cause i'm a newbie to freebsd too), but i
think that on the xfree site it says that the Geforce 3 card is supported
under xfree 4.2 w/ an "nv" driver.

"Support (accelerated) for the Riva 128, 128ZX, TNT, TNT2 (Ultra, Vanta,
M64), GeForce (DDR, 256), Quadro, GeForce2 (GTS, Ultra, MX), GeForce3, and
Quadro2 is provided by the "nv" driver."

You may want to go to the nvidia web site and see if they have a linux/unix
driver available and then install it. Installing the driver shouldn't be to
hard. Usually, there's an install file w/ directions. Just download the
source, unzip it and then follow the instructions. If you install from the
source it'll probably tell you to do something like the following:

>make
>make install

or something like that.

hope this helps, good luck
