I've been running XFree86, version 4.2, using the OroborOSX (v 0.8) window manager, on a beige G3 Mac (Rev. B or greater). When using xterm to connect to a remote machine, I've noticed that contour plots take forever (about one minute) to plot. When I use my Exodus terminal emulator in Classic mode, however, the contour plots are plotted in a few seconds. I'm running system OS X, version 10.1.5, and have a PCI ATI mach 64_3DUPro video card, which supposedly is supported by the ver. 4.2 driver of XFree86. Do I need to do something to the XF86Config file to get graphics acceleration to work on my machine? I've looked in all the correct places, but cannot find this file. Robert R.
