Choose a driver that matches your video chipset, if your card is not listed.
Check the driver list at xfree86.org to make sure that your chipset is
supported under 4.2.0.

Subject: support for matrox millennium g450

Hi there

I just installed free bsd and i'm trying to get xfree up and going. I had
xfree 3.3.6 installed, however that didn't support my matrox g450 card.

Xfree release 4.2.0 says that it now supports g450 but when i install xfree
4.2.0 and then run

# xf86config

they do not show the matrox g450 video card as an option when specifying
your video card. The closest thing is g400. I tried doing this, and the x
windows doesn't work properly. When i run

# startx

I get a partial interface where you can't use the mouse and the resolution
is really low and you only see 1/4 of the gui (the upper left hand corner).

Does anyone have any ideas?

thanks

desmond
