[Newbie]Trident Chipset

Thanks for your response, however I have put the updated driver in place
and tried the "Option" mentioned and have no joy. As I am a bit green at
this I may have put the "Option" in the wrong part of the config file. I
have tried in the "Monior" section and the "Device" section. Should one of
these be right?

Try using the

             Option "XvHsync" "0"
             Option "XvVsync" "0"

options in your config file, replacing the "0" with a value depending
on your border size. I'd try the Hsync with a value of 5 first to see
how that goes.

It also might be worth using a slightly later driver on my web page
at www.xfree86.org/~alanh.
