upon boot up the xfs server hangs so i swithed down to init 3 and start it manually then it still hangs but if i run startx i do still get the console and it is usable but if i try to start kde i get this error first and then everything except the dcopserver fails this is the very first error xsetroot:fails to initialize display then kde goes on and says none of its funcitions can hook to the server any ideas? marc brady this is XFree-4.2 marc
