Anything SDK below SDK 6.1 is not supported to compile PHP 5.3 with Visual Studio 2008 (VC9). So you have to use SDK 6.1 or later. Btw, you don't need Visual Studio at all if all you want is to compile your extensions. The SDKs include the compiler tools.
