Found this out on www.php.net thought it might be useful. Progress bar support has been a recurring theme in many a PHP mailing list over the years. You can find a free progress monitor component for PHP file uploads at http://sourceforge.net/projects/megaupload/ The advantage of this system is that you do not have to apply any patches to PHP to make use of it.
