Distorted Graphics in Games.

Hello everyone. I've installed wine in linux mint. and attempted to play some games. I'm getting some weird results with the graphics. An image can explain in the best, so I took a screenshot.
When I run the just about any game through wine I get these "fractured" graphics (view attached picture). Fonts are illegible and the graphics themselves are very pointy and have weird edges coming out of them.
I know that wine has worked for me to play games on the exact same hardware, but I'm not sure what is happening this time.

My video card: ATI HD 5770
Wine version: 1.2.3
cat /proc/version: Linux version 2.6.38-8-generic (buildd@allspice) (gcc version 4.5.2 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.5.2-8ubuntu3) ) #42-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 11 03:31:24 UTC 2011
cat /etc/issue: Linux Mint 11 Katya \n \l

My graphics drivers are the latest I could get.
I have tried installing several windows .dlls (msxml, mono etc.) via winetricks. I also intalled direct x through winetricks.
Also, trying to run the programs similar to "wine Wow.exe -opengl" is not helping.
If anyone could point me in the right direction for what I am overlooking, I would be hugely grateful.

Output when I run wine Wow.exe
