Just sharing information - Windows and Linux each have to have their own driver for the graphics card. Intel makes Windows drivers for their cards but doesn't really make Linux ones. That is probably why it worked in Windows but not in Linux. So technically it is the graphics card -company- and their choice of who to make drivers for (or to open source the information so users can make their own drivers) and not the card itself, although Intel doesn't make very good video cards either. :)
