Re: state of OpenGL in software rendering

Maybe I couldn't describe my question clear enough (I don't know much about the technical things). It's me who wants to use Mesa software rendering instead of hardware acceleration. It's rather the Windows application that requires it.
On Windows, the application SketchUp forces software rendering for some features and those features do not work in Wine (black image export). As far as I could find out, Windows applications switch between hardware/software rendering by choosing a pixel format (DescribePixelFormat?).

So there must be something that goes wrong. If a Windows application calls for software rendering then Wine should do it in some way of software rendering like Mesa3D. There is no error message in the debug log.
How can I find out more so that this problem can be solved somehow?
