Actually, I tried an experiment with it off using only OSS. I lost my sound completely, but when I put ALSA and OSS both on, I got my sound back, and this message. It does no harm, but I just wondered about what is triggering it. Could there be some package that is not configured. It doesn't seem to be in Synaptic under alsa.
