Your card is good enough. To add to what vitamin said "Wine has no magic way

Wine seems to have no way to be aware of the actual video card RAM. I have 1
GB but Wine (and therefore the game) only sees 256 MB. Wine seems still to
be working with the "shared memory" model. Keep that in mind.

Also from vitamin. "The question is, is the game itself implemented D3D and
OpenGL equally well?" I would surmise not. Cata finally implemented an
OpenGL hardware cursor. I saw no announcement of full OpenGL, even though
there is something in the settings.

I wouldn't count on Blizzard fixing their end of things. I feel much better
about Wine fixing the video RAM issue, but I don't think it's very high on
the todo list. That the game works as well as it does for most people is
close to a miracle. The devs are definitely on the side of the Light.
