Sounds like a driver bug - I'd check the Nvidia forum (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=14) to see if others are having the same problem, and open a bug against the Arch packages if not. I'm running the 256.29 xorg-edgers packages here on Kubuntu 10.10 with no problem - haven't tried.35 yet.
