Problems with Silver demo

Hello, I come here as I'm having some problems with a game and WINE and was wondering if anyone can offer some advice or solutions. The program I'm trying to run is a demo of Silver, a rather old game. Here's what happens when I run it:

When I run the game I don't see the intro cinematics, can only hear it. I have to cancel it before the cinematics ends (otherwise the game hangs). This way I get to the main menu with no problems. But when I start a new game, the game crashes and I get some kind of an error.

Does anybody have any ideas and suggestions? As additional information, I run the game in win95 win98 and Vista mode with the same result and I'm emulating a virtual desktop.
