For 2, try ALSA. Don't enable more than 1 audio system in winecfg if that's what you were doing. If that didn't help, perhaps the terminal output might indicate what's wrong (also for point 1), so try running the game in a terminal. But first: what version of Wine do you use? 1.1.39 is the latest. Have you also checked the appdb for this game to see if people had similar problems and fixes?
