Get the graphics drivers from the Synaptic package manager. The package is titled "xserver-xorg-video-intel". If you already have this driver, check out these instructions for better Intel video card performance under Ubuntu 9.04: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1130582 I'd follow the "optimal configuration" to stay on the somewhat stable and pretty fast side.
