MS is also going more this path. Ah yes, you are right, many drivers are userspace, but....they call APIs which in turn go into kernelspace territory, right? And these APIs would be the ones that Wine would have to implement, I think. Anyway, yes, I had completely forgotten about LUK, that's an incredible project which, I hope, gets somewhere, just like ROS.
