WINE - Ambitious Project

Although difficult and complex to implement, the WINE project is likely one of the better if not the best method to run Windows applications on machines without Windows. Eliminate emulation. Eliminate virtualization. IIRC, I've been using WINE periodically for nearly a decade and the progress has been amazing. Although most of my Windows programs are older, the vast majority run now. I can even use XGPlayer with the TiMidity++ soft synthesizer. Although I haven't tested recently, I'd surely love using Windows' drivers with WINE as I have a few programs which require them. I wonder about the practicality and stability of using such programs with WINE, though. Regardless, I'm thrilled with the current state of WINE. The developers deserve our thanks.

Thanks!
