Post any terminal output you're getting now. It will probably be different and related more to the video problem you're having.

By the way, what is your reason for trying to run this program in Wine? There are several Linux-native solutions for converting AVI into a DVD format, so you might try those out first. Or have you already tried that and decided that avi2dvd works better for what you want to do?
