Hello. I'm new to this forum. Before I posted this, I did due diligence searching for an answer to my problem. I found and tried 2 possibles; but neither would work for me. First my machine specs: 64 machine dual boot between WinXP and Ubuntu Janty Jackalope 9.04. When I used Hardy Heron 8.04 last year, I was able to install Version 7.0 of Dreamweaver MX on a fluke.. I still don't know why it worked... Anyway... I uninstalled it because I had some other issues..Tried to put it back on and it failed. I have also tried to install version 6.0 of DWMX and I am getting the error: "An installation support file '%systemDrive%\Program files\Common files\InstallShield\engine\6\Intel 32\corecomp.ini' could not be installed (0x8000ffff)" I have tried copying the entire InstallShield folder from my WinXP drive; into the "home/me/.wine/drive_c" folder. I have upgraded Wine to 1.1.24 beta from 1.0.1.8 I have removed wine with 'rm -rf ~/.wine I have run 'export systemDrive='C:' I have run 'export systemDrive='drive_c:' I have tried installing from CD using Wine and not Autorun, because Autorun doesn't work either. None of this effort works. I get the same error eveytime. I have tried getting help on Ubuntu forums; but I fear that people there are tired of me and my problem. No solutions yet. I desperately want to use Dreamweaver MX on my Unbuntu OS and migrate myself away from Windows XP.. ALL windows OS products. I can't afford to purchase Dreamweaver 8.0; although I've heard it's worth it and installs rather easily on Linux. I'm not very well off financially, and can't afford to spend money on "possible" software solutions. I'm a freelance web designer, and I'm not making much money at it. Does anyone have any step by step debug help they can offer as a way for me to unlayer why this program will not install from CD using Wine? i'm really running out of ideas; and I can't understand why I was able to install DWMX ver 7.0 a year ago, succesfully... it's a mystery to me. Please help. Rick (shobuz99)
