This problem was reported in Sep 2008, but still seems to be unresolved.

DVD Flick versions up to 1.2.2.1 worked fine with Wine, but none of
the 1.3 releases work. I am now using DVD Flick 1.3.0.4 with Wine
1.1.13. DVD Flick runs okay until you try to add a video file, then
freezes.

Console output is pasted below. The point (*) is reached at the point
when the startup banner disappears and the program window opens. The
final ALSA message appears at the point when the program hangs. If I
run the command "sudo modprobe snd_seq" before launching DVD Flick, I
do not get the ALSA error, but it still hangs; thus I suspect none of
this output is relevant to my problem.

Any ideas?
Matthew.

This happens because of the partial implementation of the display of
graphics on opening splashscreens.

This has to do with Font displays. This needs to be implemented.

No further messages at all, after this one? I wish I could provide what
debugging commands are needed as the lockup of the program appears to be
due to an improper implementation of Windows functionality needed to run
this program. You are correct in your assessment of the messages
received through terminal.

No further messages, no. If anybody would like to investigate, the bug can be reproduced in a couple of minutes:

(1) Download and run the DVD Flick installer at:
    http://downloads.sourceforge.net/dvdflick/dvdflick_setup_1.3.0.4.exe

(2) At the end of the installation process, run the DVD Flick application.

(3) Click the "Add title" button at the top-right of the window, then
select any video file (AVI, MPG, etc.). A message will pop up saying,
"Please wait... Loading <filename>", at which point the application
    hangs.

any help much appreciated,
Matthew.
