Can you launch the "D2VidTst.exe" utility which is located in the Diablo II directory ? This utility can configure the video card for Diablo. If you can choose between using DirectDraw or Direct3D, choose DirectDraw. Did you install Patches for Diablo ? If not, you can try to install some of them and then launching Diablo II again. You can find them on the blizzard's website.
