Re: Which Wine Download?

Hi Steve,

I tried it out. Looks like its missing a dll. The way you would test this is by doing something like:

"wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Brother\'s\ Keeper\ 6/Bk6w.exe"

That will execute the program from command line. I don't know much about MSVBVM60.dll but I *think* it has to do with MS's Visual Basic runtime (someone correct me?).

As to how to fix that, you probably will have to find a native version of that library.

Hi Zac,

I'm back again with ongoing problems.

I have successfully installed the 1.0-rc4 version of Wine according to your script.

I have installed a simple Windows program (no .NET of anything like that) and the icon is in the menu and on the Desktop.

However, when I try to launch it the "Eggtimer" rotates for a short while but then nothing else happens.

How do I find out what has gone wrong?

Thanks

Stephen Carter

PS - Do I need to change the subject heading?
