Log in to Ubuntu in Japanese mode. Get a terminal window and paste the line locale | sed 's/^/export /' > jap.sh into it. Then look at the new file jap.sh you just created, e.g. gedit jap.sh It should look something like this: export LANG=jp_JP export LANGUAGE=jp export LC_CTYPE="jp_JP" ... Then log out, log back in to Ubuntu in English mode, get another terminal window, and give the command source jap.sh If that doesn't give an error, you should be able to run apps (including wine) inside that same terminal window and have them run in japanese mode. - Dan
