You could check if there are any wine or wineserver processes still 
running. If so, Wine isn't shutting down properly, which may be a Wine 
bug. If not, it must be a Compiz problem.

If xkill doesn't think the window exists, it doesn't sound like a Wine 
problem, so it sounds a lot like it must be a Compiz bug.
