I don't know what changes to make.

can anyone tell me where these menu and dialog font specs
are configured or defined and how to change them and to what
to change them?

The suggestion is to select LogPixels, meaning to select
a better value. Double click on LogPixels to do that.
~/.wine/drive_c/*.reg contains the data you see when you
run regedit. Edit it the way you prefer.

That is the default font that I get. If you also have windows
installed you could just copy the c:\windows\fonts files
to the same folder in your fake windows setup.

Thanks for your responses, friends, but I still need an answer
to my original question which was: "I don't know what changes
to make." Specifically where and to what to change the font style
and how to do that?

As I said in my original message, I did copy the fonts from the
sources listed into the c:\windows\fonts directory, but that
did not solve the problem.

The fonts: vgafix.fon, vgasys.fon, or vga850.fon listed in
the register (as shown above) do not seem to be anywhere
on my system, so where can I download those fonts?

Where is wine finding the font that is being used as the
default font in the example I posted at this URL:

I've just checked on my XP system and although the Logpixels part of my registry is the same there aren't any fonts with those names actually used by Windows. You don't need to download those fonts.

You haven't said if you have a Windows installation on your computer. If you do then copying the fonts from that to the right folder will mean they automatically get picked. If you don't then this project (which I haven't tried myself) might help.
