I am aware that Gimp is a very good image manipulation program,
but I was not aware that one could do extensive desktop publishing
work, complex typesetting, pagination, etc.  Are you suggesting that
Gimp can do all these tasks as efficiently as Pagemaker?

If so, could you refer me to some examples, references, and tutorials
explaining how this kind of complex desktop publishing is done?
