this is my first use of wine, I use a interactive board made by
Promethean. They are developping a driver for linux but don't mean to
developp the software. So I wanted to use it with wine. Wen I try to
install it, I have the good interface, the installshield wizard starts
installing, then: "1628: error: Failed to complete installation". When
running winedebug=+loaddll, it says :"not permitted" even when I'm
logged as root.
What can I do? thanks

I'm using version wine-0.9.8 on a Gentoo 2.6.15.
I wrote to the Promethean's support and they answered that they had
tried wine unsuccessfully, but they managed to make it work with VMware
on an Ubuntu Breezy Badger 5.10.
Actually they have problem developping the driver, and nobody can help
them (I've been in touch with them for more than one year about it) so
they ask if I know someone who can develop it for them (it will be paid
of course). I'm just a biology teacher so if you know someone... It
makes impossible for me to teach easily because all I do is under
Linux, and when I need this interactive board, I have to reboot and I
lose several minutes, which is not convenient in front of thirty
teenagers! Of course, I can emulate linux from windows, but I didn't
try if it works well and I want to promote linux... and the file system
and gestion is too different, I don't really know how to use windows
well.
