Thanks for the info. Per comment 10, this patch already exists in wine 0.9. However, I did see a series of notes in the development list that indicates that the GDI Error is not initialized on every GDI call, and a success does not explicitly set the value to zero. The net effect is that, once a GDI call experiences an error, subsequent calls will report the same error if they were actually successful. This is consistent with what I am seeing in the log, so this is the track I am going to follow for now (unless more information is forthcoming).
