Hi!
Just try to extract the installer with 'cabextract' or 'unshield', that
should do the job. After that you should have all the files in a
directory the installer uses. There is probably a setup-file or a
msi-file packaged with it, so try starting it (msi-files are started
with msiexec, but i dunno how good wine can handle such files). I havent
tried it with this particular package myself, but sometimes its quite
helpful ;) if you need any further help, just post it!

Hello,
for an application I have to use the latest Windows Installer 3.1 V2
(http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B893803&x=10&y=15,
available as direct download link here:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/4/7/147ded26-931c-4daf-9095-ec7baf996f46/WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe).
Unfortunatelly the installation fails immediately with an error box popping
up: "Unable to find a volume for file extraction. Please verify, that you
have proper permissions."
Even starting with:
WINEDEBUG="trace-all,warn+all,fimxme-all" wine
C:/tmp/install/WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe
does not print any output.
Has anybody a clue?
