I just did, but it will take some more testing to see any difference.
The most crucial test is importing large numbers of raw photographs
averaging around 5.5 Mb each.

Have you tried setting msvcrt to native? Often with programs that are
processor intensive (and IMatch would appear to fit this description),
using a native msvcrt can have a dramatic impact on performance.
