There has been no progress debugging this. Searchs of the error message and its parts find lots of references but no clues about where to look. The config file is a direct copy of one that worked. The wine build is a ./configure, make depend, make, and make install. $DISPLAY is set to :0.0 and the x11drv.so file is in place. This one is proving difficult to crack.

The system is a new install of FC2 and wine Dec 2004 release. The wine build and install went without incident. The config is tested and a direct copy from a previous install. However wine fails to load with the error:

How can this be debugged?
