Hi, thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately when I change the driver to nvidia it stops X from loadfing properly (all I get is a blank screen with a cursor, which I am able to move). Also I'm using X11 not XFree86 if that makes sense (I'm a bit new to linux). Do i need to reinstall my nvidia drivers or get different ones? cheers tom On Tue, 15 Mar 2005 15:52:35 +0000, Gavin Hamill <gdh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > On Tuesday 15 March 2005 14:57, tom chilton wrote: > > Hi! > > So far I'm having no luck at all with wine, though I am completely > > blaming my own incompetence at the moment! > > > Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". > > Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". > > wine: Unhandled exception (thread 0009), starting debugger... > > WineDbg starting on pid 0x8 > > Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit > > code (0x40e23bea). > > > is this possibly related to the GLX message? > > I'm using gentoo 2.6.10-r6 kernel if this helps. > > > > any help would be massively appreciated cheers! > > Yes it's absolutely related to the GLX messages :) > > I had this exact error until yesterday.
