My WINE installation was part of a standard Red Hat 7.2 installation CD, which require no
additional configuration. I have located some registry but I am unable to run the "regedit"
command.

If you have already installed wine you should be able to run regedit.
Then you can do whatever you want as if you are on Windows. There is a
winedefault.reg which you can import where already a lot of keys are
predefined.
