OK, nothing. When running it here I get a lot of winsock: messages.

Some applications test for the existence of the winsock libraries in the
Windows\System directory. IIRC you are using a no-windows install, so
they are not there.

Try what happens if you create some dummies:

touch wsock32.dll

 and

touch ws2_32.dll

 and

touch mswsock.dll

in your Windows\System directory.
