Jan release hangs frequently on FC-1 and MS Word

The Jan release of wine hangs frequently on Fedora Core 1 running MS 
Word.  Does anyone have any pointers or should I re-install the November 
release?? There is no debuging information; after a long pause a dialoge 
box offers the choice to kill the app.
