Dear All

Thanks for your comments. I have downloaded and installed wine-20040121. Unfortunately things seem to have worsened. I installed wine with my Windows partition mounted umask=000, and used the Windows partition for the wine installation when prompted (sorry can't remember the prompt question wording). I didn't install & run winesetuptk as everything seemed ready to go. Below are a few error messages from trying to run notepad (if I should send debugger output, please let me know how to generate/find it). Minitab, which before seemed to work OK apart from graphs, now produces graphs fine but will not open or save; Genstat behaves slightly differently but pretty much the same as before (i.e. splash screen and freeze).

Have I mis-installed wine?
Do I need to install and run winesetuptk too?
Should I add Profile="/mnt/Documents and settings/myhomefolder" or LoadWindowsRegistryFiles=N to my .wine/config?

Thanks again.

Ivan
